چکیده
Bisphenol A-glycidyl methacrylate (Bis-GMA) and urethane dimethacrylate (UDMA) are widely used as the primary components of (meth)acrylic monomers. However, use Bis-GMA, which is a bisphenol A derivative, in dentistry being questioned after was found to exhibit estrogenic activity. Although UDMA considered substitute for bis-GMA, mechanical properties cured resin composites containing less than desirable. Therefore, this study, we developed new alternative monomers enhance strength composite resins. Five acrylic were synthesized study monomer substituents replace Bis-GMA UDMA. The elastic modulus, strength, breaking energy values resins consisting mixtures acrylates diluting determined using three-point flexural test. data obtained analyzed one-way ANOVA post-hoc Tukey HSD tests (p < 0.05). Viscosities measured with cone-plate viscometer. Refractive indices an Abbe refractometer. results revealed that monomer-based exhibited higher modulus (up 40%) 21%) compared UDMA-based resin. Viscosity refractive index between those Bis-GMA. diacrylates prepared from diisocyanates have aromatic or aliphatic ring, 1,3-bis(1-isocyanato-1-methylethyl)benzene (TMXDI), 1,3-bis(isocyanatomethyl)benzene (XDI), norbornane diisocyanate (NBDI) worth considering options restorative composites.

Synthesis of fluorinated Bis-GMA and its use with other fluorinated monomers to formulate hydrophobic composites.
Fluorinated Bis-GMA was synthesized and used with other commercially available fluorinated monomers and diluents to prepare hydrophobic composites. The composites were formulated as one-paste systems and were polymerized using blue light. Mechanical properties and water-related qualities were determined. Fluorination generally improved the hydrophobicity of the composites, but there was no clea...

Purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the amount of Bis-GMA, UDMA, and TEGDMA released from four different types of composite resins in three different time periods using the HPLC device. Materials and Methods: Four different composite resin materials with nanofiller content were used in the study. A total of 40 sample discs were prepared and polished to provide 10 pieces for each mater...

متن کاملPreparation of a Bis-GMA-Free Dental Resin System with Synthesized Fluorinated Dimethacrylate Monomers
With the aim of reducing human exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) derivatives in dentistry, a fluorinated dimethacrylate monomer was synthesized to replace 2,2-bis[4-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloy-loxypropyl)-phenyl]propane (Bis-GMA) as the base monomer of dental resin. After mixing with reactive diluent triethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA), fluorinated dimethacrylate (FDMA)/TEGDMA was prepared and c...
